*BULK AND BUILDING MATERIAL ARE NOT ACCEPTED AT THE RECYCLING CENTER.
*PLEASE PLACE YOUR RECYCLING OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE OR NO LATER THAN 6:00 A.M. THE MORNING OF PICKUP. HOUSE NUMBER MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE ON ALL CONTAINERS. EMPTY CONTAINERS MUST BE REMOVED FROM CURBSIDE NO LATER THAN 8 A.M. THE FOLLOWING MORNING.
*Metal Cans, aluminum cans, plastic and glass are to be reasonably clean and may be co-mingled. A maximum of three 32 gallon containers or their equivalent in clearly marked buckets or clear plastic bags will be picked up.
*MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL (INCLUDING ENVELOPES), GREETING CARDS, GIFT WRAP, CATALOGUES, PAPERBACK BOOKS (HARD COVER BOOKS MUST HAVE COVERS REMOVED), WHITE PAPER AND COMPUTER PAPER may be dropped off at the recycling center or will be picked up on your last monthly recycling pickup. These items must be separated from your regular recycling and placed in a cardboard box, paper bag or garbage can no larger than 32 gallons or weighing more than 50 lbs. Paper will not be accepted if it's contaminated with food, wax, dirt, mud or any other substance.
*CORRUGATED CARDBOARD WILL NOT BE PICKED UP CURBSIDE WITH YOUR RECYCLING. It must be taken to the recycling center. It can also be put out with your regular garbage, but then it will not be recycled. Businesses must obtain a permit to drop off cardboard at recycling. (Manasquan businesses only)
*LARGE APPLIANCES AND SCRAP METAL will be accepted at the Borough Recycling Center. Proof of residency is required. NO PROPANE TANKS. Please do not place Appliances at the curb. They will not be picked up.
*NEWSPAPERS will be picked up by the Boy Scout Troop #59 on the second and last Sunday of every month. Papers must be tied and placed at the curb by 9 a.m. on Collection Days. They will not be collected if packaged using wire, tape or in paper or plastic bags. Newspapers may also be dropped off at the Boy Scout's newspaper shed at the North Main Street Parking Lot. They must be bundled as above. The Scouts will now accept phone books and magazines (No junk mail) bundled as above.
*LEAVES should be raked into street and left loose. They will be collected by the Borough Public Works Department from October 6 through December 12. (except week of Thanksgiving) During the rest of the year leaves may be taken to the Borough Recycling Center in open containers.
RECYCLING DISTRICTS
**District 1: Residents west of the railroad tracks will be picked up on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
**District 2: Residents between the railroad tracks and Watson's Creek will be picked up on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
**District 3: Residents east of the creeks and all of Ocean Ave. will be picked up on the first and third Tuesday of each month EXCEPT DURING THE SUMMER.
