NO DOGS ON THE BEACH APRIL 1st TO OCTOBER 31st
Please be advised that begining this Sunday April 1st through October 31st, no dogs are allowed on the beach or boardwalk regardless of whether they are on a leash or not. The Associated Humane Society and the Borough Police Department are authorized to issue tickets. First offense is a $150 fine.
As an alternative, dogs are permitted on a leash at Fisherman's Cove which is owned, maintained and enforced by the Monmouth County Parks system.
The section of Manasquan Code, adopted in 1993 and revised in 2011 is as follows:
5-3.1 Restricted Use.
a. No dog shall be allowed upon the boardwalk or its approaches maintained by the Borough east of First Avenue, or upon the beach east of the boardwalk, whether the dog be on a leash or otherwise during the period between April 1st and October 31st. The owner of any dog under the control of a leash may utilize the beach east of the boardwalk, and the approaches and boardwalk for access only, between November 1st and March 31st.
b. Dogs are prohibited at all times from public parks and playgrounds.

5-3.2 Violations and Penalties.
Any person who violates this section or fails to comply with any of its requirements shall, upon conviction of a first offense thereof, be subject to a fine in the amount of one hundred fifty ($150.00) dollars. Any violator convicted of a second or subsequent offense under this section shall be subject to a fine in the amount of three hundred ($300.00) dollars. (Ord. No. 2089-11 § 1)
