The Bailey-Reed House, at 105 South Street, Manasquan was purchased in 1977 and is a fully functioning museum.
This property is one of the oldest in southern Monmouth County. SVHS has refurbished much of the house. Individual rooms are designed and furnished in a manner similar to that of the years the house has been in use. The earliest section, the current kitchen, was the only part built in late 1700’s and is now fitted much as it would have been at that time. Other rooms depict the house as it was in early, mid, and late 1800’s.
We will be available to the public the second Sunday of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with various display themes, plus a tour of the home including the Manasquan Room and Nautical Room.
People are encouraged to join the society and to help with funds and/or donations. For more information please call 732-223-6770. |
