Borough of Manasquan, New Jersey

Stormwater Conveyance and
Bulkhead Reconstruction Project

Dear Boat Slip Lessee,

The Borough of Manasquan  has authorized a $4,450,000 Stormwater Conveyance and Bulkhead reconstruction project through a partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP)  New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust (NJEIT) program.

Through a combination of FEMA Hazard Mitigation funding and NJEIT low interest loan, Manasquan successfully applied and was awarded financing for this project.

The project calls for new bulkheading along the docks on Perrine Boulevard, and Fourth Avenue including the dead ends of Euclid and Cedar.  The reconstruction will take approximately 180 days to complete and is scheduled to begin sometime in December.  Recently a contract was awarded to Bird Construction, who you may know, was the contractor for the Fisherman’s Cove project in Manasquan.

The construction timeline will affect current and next year’s lease holders.  As a result, the borough is considering various options during the construction transition.

Attached is a FAQ regarding the project.
