FRI. 8 A.M. - 2 P.M. SAT - SUN 9 A.M. - NOON.

*GRASS WILL NOT BE PICKED UP OR ACCEPTED AT THE RECYCYLING CENTER.

*PLEASE PLACE YOUR RECYCLING OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE OR NO LATER THAN 6:00 A.M. THE MORNING OF PICKUP.  HOUSE NUMBER MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE ON ALL CONTAINERS.  EMPTY CONTAINERS MUST BE REMOVED FROM CURBSIDE NO LATER THAN 8 A.M. THE FOLLOWING MORNING.

*Metal Cans, aluminum cans, plastic and glass are to be reasonably clean and may be co-mingled and may be dropped off at the recycling center, or  maximum of three 32 gallon containers or their equivalent in clearly marked buckets or clear plastic bags will be picked up on your recycling day.

*MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL (INCLUDING ENVELOPES), GREETING CARDS, GIFT WRAP, CATALOGUES, PAPERBACK BOOKS , HARD COVER BOOKS, WHITE PAPER AND COMPUTER PAPER may be dropped off at the recycling center or it may be placed at curbside on your last pickup of the month.  These items must be separated from your regular recycling and placed in a cardboard box, paper bag or garbage can no larger than 32 gallons or weighing more than 50 lbs.  Paper will not be accepted if it's contaminated with food, wax, dirt, mud or any other substance.

*CORRUGATED CARDBOARD WILL BE PICKED UP CURBSIDE ON THE SECOND COLLECTION DAY WITH YOUR RECYCLING.  It must be tied in bundles not exceeding 12 inches in height or 50 pounds in weight.  It will not be collected if it is contaminated with food, wax, dirt, mud or any other substance.  It may also be taken to the Borough Recycling Center. 

*LARGE APPLIANCES, ELECTRONICS AND SCRAP METAL will be accepted at the Borough Recycling Center.  Proof of residency is required.  NO PROPANE TANKS.  Please do not place Appliances at the curb.  They will not be picked up.

*NEWSPAPERS will be picked up by the Boy Scout Troop #59 on the second and last Sunday of every month.  Papers must be tied and placed at the curb by 9 a.m. on Collection Days.  They will not be collected if packaged using wire, tape or in paper or plastic bags.  Newspapers may also be dropped off at the Boy Scout's newspaper shed at the North Main Street Parking Lot.  They must be bundled as above.  The Scouts will now accept phone books and magazines (No junk mail) bundled as above.  Phone books may also be taken to the Borough Recycling Center.

*LEAVES should be raked into street and left loose.  They will be collected by the Borough Public Works Department from September 29th through December 12th, 2014 on alternate weeks (no collection the week of Thanksgiving).  During the rest of the year leaves may be taken to the Borough Recycling Center in open containers. 

 

GARBAGE COLLECTION

Garbage Collection is Curbside pickup.  A maximum of three 32 gallon containers or their equivalent will be picked up.  HOUSE NUMBERS MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE ON ALL CONTAINERS.

**GARBAGE MAY BE PLACED AT THE CURB THE NIGHT BEFORE OR NO LATER THAN 6 A.M. THE MORNING OF PICK-UP. EMPTY CONTAINERS MUST BE REMOVED FROM CURBSIDE NO LATER THAN 8 A.M. THE FOLLOWING MORNING.

***BULK PICKUP WILL BE ON YOUR FIRST GARBAGE DAY OF THE WEEK COMMENCING THE SECOND MONDAY IN SEPTEMBER CONTINUING THROUGH THE FRIDAY IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING MEMORIAL DAY.  No large appliances, electronics, (see recycling) or building materials will be accepted on these bulk pickup days.  Please cut tree limbs (only 3" in diameter accepted) and carpet pieces into three foot lengths and tie in bundles.  Loose twigs and other small yard rubbish (OTHER THAN GRASS AND LEAVES) can be placed in open containers or trash bags and will be picked up on your bulk pickup day. ONLY ONE LARGE BULK ITEM ALLOWED PER PICKUP. A BULK ITEM IS ANY ITEM LARGER THAN A 32 GAL. CONTAINER. 

**The Borough has arranged for two additional special bulk pickups.  The first from 5/19/14 through 5/23/14 and the second from 9/8/14 through 9/12/14.  During these time frames ON YOUR FIRST WEEKDAY GARBAGE COLLECTION ONLY a maximum of 5 bulk items will be picked up.  Included are a limit of two 32 gal. containers of home generated building materials (wood, sheetrock, etc.) not to exceed 4 feet in length with nails removed.

 

No recyclable materials, hazardous waste, white goods or concrete will be accepted. 

**THESE DATES AND CONDITIONS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BY CODE ENFORCEMENT.  SUMMONSES WILL BE ISSUED TO VIOLATORS. 
THERE IS NO TRASH PICKUP ON THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, OR NEW YEAR'S DAY.  PICKUP WILL BE THE DAY FOLLOWING THANKSGIVING
(11/28/14) CHRISTMAS (12/26/14) AND NEW YEARS (1/2/2015).
NON-TRADITIONAL ITEMS FOR DISPOSAL

Hazardous Waste:  (Paints, Oils, Pesticides, Pool Chemicals, etc.) must be brought to the Monmouth County Hazardous Waste Facility by appointment only.  (Monmouth County residents only).  Call 732-683-8686 to schedule an appointment.  Open 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Tuesday through Saturday.  Household Batteries are no longer accepted and are to be disposed in the trash.

Empty Dry Paint Cans only can be disposed of with your regular trash.
All Propane tanks - full or empty must be taken to the County Hazardous Waste Facility.
Phone Books may be taken to the Borough Recycling Center or taken to the Boy Scout Drop off shed @ N. Main St. Parking Lot.
Household Batteries can now be disposed of in regular household trash.
