Monday – Friday   7:30am - 2:30pm
Saturday & Sunday    9 am – Noon
CLOSED ALL OBSERVED HOLIDAYS

            ITEMS ACCEPTED at RECYCLING CENTER:

    • MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL (Including Envelopes), GREETING CARDS, GIFT WRAP, CATALOGUES, BOOKS (Paperback and Hard Covered), PAPER (White and Computer), and PHONE BOOKS
        • Must NOT be contaminated with Food, Wax, Dirt, Mud or any other substance.
    • CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
        • Must NOT be contaminated with Food, Wax, Dirt, Mud or any other substance.
    • LARGE APPLIANCES, ELECTRONICS, and SCRAP METAL
        • Proof of Residency is Required
    • LEAVES
        • Drop off and place loose in Leaf Bin

 

           ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED at RECYLING CENTER:

    •     BULK and BUILDING MATERIALS
    •     GRASS or other YARD RUBBISH
    •     PROPANE TANKS
        • Full or Empty – take to County Hazardous Waste Facility
    •     PAINT CANS
        • Must be Empty and Dry – Dispose in regular household trash
    •     HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES
        • Dispose in regular household trash

NEWSPAPERS

 Picked up by Boy Scout Troop 59

  • SECOND and LAST SUNDAYS of EVERY MONTH
  • Bundled with Twine  and placed Curbside by 9:00 AM
    • Do NOT Bundle with WIRE or TAPE – they will NOT be Picked Up
    • Do NOT Place in BAGS (plastic or paper) – they will NOT be Picked Up
  • Newspapers may be DROPPED OFF at the BOY SCOUT PAPER SHED located at the North Main Street Parking Lot
    • Newspaper must be Bundled (see above)
    • Also accepted – Phone Books and Magazines Bundled (see above) or take to recycling center
    • NO JUNK MAIL – take to recycling center

 

CURBSIDE RECYCLING PICK UP

Place out the Night Prior or by 6:00 AM on your Recycling Day.
MAXIMUM of THREE 32 gallon containers – (the Equivalent of, or clear Plastic Bags)
REMOVE EMPTY CONTAINERS from CURBSIDE PRIOR to 8:00 AM the FOLLOWING MORNING
HOUSE NUMBERS MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE ON ALL CONTAINERS

  • METAL CANS, ALUMINUM CANS, PLASTIC and GLASS
        •  Must be reasonably clean, may be co-mingled

IN ADDITION on the SECOND RECYCLING DAY of the MONTH:

  • MAGAZINES, JUNK MAIL (Including Envelopes), GREETING CARDS, GIFT WRAP, CATALOGUES, BOOKS (Paperback and Hard Covered), PAPER (White and Computer), and PHONE BOOKS
        • Must be Placed in a CARDBOARD BOX, PAPER BAG, or GARBAGE CAN-32 GALLON MAXIMUM
        • Must NOT be contaminated with Food, Wax, Dirt, Mud or any other substance.
        • Must NOT be co-mingled with CANS, PLASTIC, or GLASS
  • CORRUGATED CARDBOARD
        • Must be TIED in BUNDLES not to exceed 12 inches in height or 50 pounds in weight  
        • Must NOT be contaminated with Food, Wax, Dirt, Mud or any other substance.

DO NOT PUT OUT THE FOLLOWING AS THEY WILL NOT GET PICKED UP

  • Large Appliances, Electronics and Scrap Metal - accepted at recycling yard
  • Paint Cans (empty and dry) – dispose in regular trash
  • Propane Tanks (empty or full) – take to Monmouth County Hazardous Waste Facility
  • Household Batteries – dispose in regular trash

 

 
           

CURBSIDE GARBAGE COLLECTION

HOUSE NUMBERS MUST BE CLEARLY VISIBLE ON ALL CONTAINERS

BULK PICK UP:

  • ONE LARGE BULK ITEM will be allowed for pick up on your first garbage day of the week STARTING the SECOND MONDAY in SEPTEMBER thru the FRIDAY PRECEDING MEMORIAL DAY.
    • ONE LARGE BULK ITEM is ANY ITEM LARGER THAN a 32 GALLON CONTAINER.
    • NO LARGE APPLIANCES, ELECTRONICS (see recycling), or BUILDING MATERIALS WILL BE ACCEPTED on these BULK PICK UP DAYS.
    • TREE LIMBS (up to 3” in diameter accepted) and CARPET PIECES CUT INTO 3 FOOT LENGTHS – TIED AND BUNDLED.
    • LOOSE TWIGS and OTHER SMALL YARD RUBBISH can be placed in open containers or trash bags.

THERE IS NO GARBAGE COLLECTION ON THANKSGIVING, CHRISTMAS, or NEW YEARS DAY. 
PICK UP WILL BE THE DAY FOLLOWING:

        • THANKSGIVING – FRIDAY 11/27/15
        • CHRISTMAS – SATURDAY 12/26/15
        • NEW YEARS DAY – SATURDAY 1/2/16

           SPECIAL BULK PICK UP:  May 18 - 22 and September 14 - 18

ON YOUR FIRST WEEKDAY GARBAGE COLLECTON ONLY

      • MAXIMUM of 5 BULK ITEMS will be PICKED UP
      • Including a limit of two 32 gallon containers of home generated BUILDING MATERIALS (wood, sheetrock, etc.) not to exceed 4 FEET in LENGTH – NAILS REMOVED

NO RECYCLABLE MATERIALS, HAZARDOUS WASTE, WHITE GOODS OR CONCRETE WILL BE ACCEPTED.

THESE DATES AND CONDITIONS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED BY CODE ENFORCEMENT.   SUMMONSES WILL BE ISSUED TO VIOLATORS.

NON-TRADITIONAL ITEMS FOR DISPOSAL

HAZARDOUS WASTE:

  • PAINTS, OILS, PESTICIDES, POOL CHEMICALS, ETC.
    • Must be brought by appointment only to: 

                MONMOUTH COUNTY HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY 
                Tuesday through Saturday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.                       
                 732-683-8686 – CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT 
                                 (MONMOUTH COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY)

  • EMPTY DRY PAINT CANS only can be disposed of with your regular trash.
  • ALL PROPANE TANKS – full or empty must be taken to the MONMOUTH COUNTY HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY.
  • PHONE BOOKS – take to Borough Recycling Center or the Boy Scout Paper Shed at the North Main Street Parking Lot.
  • HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES – dispose in regular household trash.
