Marriage & Civil Union Licenses

Residents can apply in the town where either applicant resides. If both applicants reside outside of New Jersey but will unite in New Jersey - apply in the town where the ceremony will be performed. Requirements - 1 witness, 18 years of age and over that knows both applicants, a $28.00 fee, social security numbers, date of ceremony, name of the person performing the ceremony, where the ceremony will take place and domestic status information i.e. divorce, former domestic partner or civil union.

There is a 72 hour waiting period from the time of application to issuance of marriage and civil union licenses.
